Recipe Share Wednesday: Chicken Alfredo Pizza

This is the original recipe that I used for a long time. Since I first started making this, I have changed some things. I now make my own pizza dough most of the time, as well as homemade Alfredo sauce and my own grilled chicken. But if you don’t have time for that, this version is quite yummy. šŸ™‚

(This is modified from a recipe from Taste of Home.)

2 tablespoons butter, melted

1 tablespoon olive oil plus extra for brushing crust

1 1/2 teaspoons minced garlic

1 teaspoon dried basil

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese

1 cup creamy Alfredo sauce (I use Classico – you can use the light version)

2 cups chopped cooked chicken breast (I use Tyson’s bagged grilled chicken strips or chunks cut into bite-sized pieces)

1 (12-inch) pre-baked pizza crust (like Boboli; I use Kroger’s brand found in the refrigerated section)

1 cup (or more if you like) shredded pizza cheese blend

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Brush crust lightly with olive oil (don’t miss the edge). Mix together the butter, olive oil, garlic, basil, oregano, Parmesan cheese and Alfredo sauce. Arrange the chicken on top of the pizza crust. Pour the sauce mixture evenly over the chicken. Top with shredded cheese.

Bake for 10-15 minutes in preheated oven until the crust is lightly browned and toppings are toasty brown.
