Recipe Share Wednesday: Stuffed French Toast

This is what I’m having for breakfast in the morning. 🙂

Stuffed French Toast

  • 12 slices whole wheat bread or French bread
  • 6 tablespoons cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup fruit preserves (100% fruit was in original recipe)
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • powdered sugar

Combine cream cheese and preserves; use mixture to make 6 sandwiches. In a bowl, beat eggs, milk, maple syrup, and vanilla together with whisk. Butter a griddle (I just rub the end of a stick of butter over my griddle) and heat to medium-low heat. Dip each sandwich in egg mixture. Cook 2-3 minutes on each side, or until lightly browned on both sides. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
